Shillong, May 12: The truck helper was killed on spot while the driver has sustained major injuries after a 12-tyre tuck crashed into a shop at Mawblei near Madanryting Police Station on Saturday.

The truck bears registration number TN 52 F 5863 was coming from Jowai towards Shillong.

As per information, the incident happened at around 9:15 PM. The helper of the truck was reported to have died on the spot, and the driver survived with major injuries and was shifted to nearest hospital.

However, no information was provided regarding whether anyone was present inside the shop.
