18 trainees complete Field Assistant training from Conservation Training Institute

Shillong, Mar 18: The Department of Soil and Water Conservation felicitated around 18 trainees of the 48th Batch Field Assistant of the Conservation Training Institute at the passing out ceremony in CTI Auditorium, Byrnihat.Out of 18 trainees enrolled during the session 2021-22, fifteen of them are from the Soil Conservation Department in Assam, two of them from Arunachal Pradesh and one trainee from Soil and Water Conservation (T) Division in Resubelpara.

The Meghalaya Secretary of Soil and Water Conservation, Dr. Joram Beda, graced the function as the chief guest in the presence of I Rynjah, Director Soil and Water Conservation, M Diengdoh DSW/ Sr. Instructor CTI Byrnihat, PP Lyngdoh Joint Director CTI Byrnihat besides other officers of the department.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Joram Beda congratulated the passed out trainees for completing the 11 month training during the month of April 2021 to March 2022 which is a basic need before they start their service in their respective departments. This is a benefit to the people, especially the farming community from the prestigious and one of the oldest institutions in the state.

He said that passing out trainees are an asset to the department and the state urges them to share and exercise their knowledge, information, innovation and techniques that they have received and to impart it with sincere, dedication and humble spirit for the advancement of the state in terms of conservation in order to raise the level concern of the environment.

During the ceremony, merit certificates and trophies were awarded to the trainees who secured the highest marks in different subjects, excelled in games, sports and trainees with the best attendance during the entire duration of the course.
