TURA, Dec 12: The Tura police have announced that 200 home guard volunteers are being deployed across multiple traffic points in town from Monday to help traffic police in their duty to streamline vehicular movement which of late has become a major problem for authorities and a headache forthe public.
“We are deploying 200 home guard volunteers for traffic duty from Monday onwards to try and improve the traffic flow,” stated West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police V S Rathore.
This much anticipated decision will provide much needed respite for commuters who are struggling every day against traffic jams for hours due to the congestion.
It will particularly help the most congested routes like that from Chandmari to Ringrey market, Babupara to Tura market, AOC station to Hawakhana, Tentengkol to Araimile, New Tura and Dakopgre.
