3 drug smugglers from Tura caught at Bajengdoba with heroin

TURA, May 10: North Garo Hills police have arrested three men from Tura smuggling in the heroin drug, in two separate incidents, on Tuesday night after intensive road and naka checking.

North Garo Hills police received credible information from its sources at around 7 PM that some drug smugglers would be transporting contraband items from Krishnai town, near Paikan, towards West Garo Hills.

Accordingly police Nakas were placed at various strategic points in the district to frisk vehicles and occupants.

Around 8:30 PM during checking, the police naka party placed outside Bajengdoba Police Station on the main highway intercepted a man and found in his possession 5.69 grams of suspected heroin along with a mobile phone. He was placed under arrest and identified as Sreitusha Ricardo Ch. Sangma of Tura Balading.

The same night, around 10:00 PM the same naka party at Bajengdoba again intercepted another two persons on a motorcycle.

In their possession was found 3.13 grams of suspected heroin and one mobile which were seized along with the bike.

The accused have been identified as Chuang Ch. Marak of Eden Bari Masumatagittim, Tura and Ricky Ch Momin 25 years of Tura Cherangre. Accordingly, Bajengdoba PS Case No 08(05)2023 has been registered.
