300 leaders and supporters of Congress, BJP and UDP joins National People’s Party

Shillong, June 28: To a major boost to the National People’s Party (NPP) in Jirang General Assembly Constituency, a number of more than 300 leaders and supporters of the Congress, BJP and UDP joined the umbrella of the Meghalaya state Leading party the NPP which pose a major strength for the upcoming General Assembly Election 2023.

The leaders and supporters of the border areas who officially joined the NPP accorded warm reception by the NPP Jirang Legislator who is also the President of Jirang Constituency Block Sosthenes Sohtun, in the presence of the MDC Victor Rani, along with other party leaders.

In the speeches of the leaders who joined the NPP camp, said that, they has finally decided to joined the NPP since they have witnessed alot of positive changes interms of developmental works and several border issues were served by the NPP party in Jirang Constituency which has been pending for several years, but the NPP legislator Sosthenes Sohtun has done it within a short span of 4 and half year.

They also shared that, they will be working hard in retaining the Jirang Assembly seat for NPP candidate so that, the constituency and its people can see more positive changes and developmental projects, adding that most of the major issues in the areas are the bad road connectivity, water supplies and education sector which has been provided and brought changes by the NPP parties especially in border areas in the last few years.

Welcoming the newly joined leaders and supporters, Sosthenes Sohtun expressed happiness in welcoming the new leaders to the NPP party and also seek their cooperation in the upcoming MLA election 2023.

He also said that, the NPP has been very serious to commit it’s commitment in bringing changes in Jirang Constituency which has been a very backward constituency in Ri Bhoi District, which has been delivered within a span of four years, adding that, more developments projects will be delivered in days to come especially to those border villages.
