Tura, Mar 27: Police in South Garo Hills on Friday night seized 500 bottles of the narcotic substances Phensedyl cough syrup from a drug smuggler.

Based on the input received by the ANTF Baghmra regarding the transportation of consignment ( contraband substances) a combing operation was conducted at Jadi Bazar and a trap was laid by engaging source as a bait and during operation one Md Kashem Ali was apprehended and on his leading One bolero pickup no As 14 c 6239 which was parked near Genesis Petrol pump was found along with one driver namely Shri Amirul Islam and on thorough search of a vehicle 500 bottle of phensedyl were recovered from behind the pickup vehicle which was kept concealed inside 6 potato’s bag and the same has been seized at the PO. Both the aforementioned person has been brought to the PS and the case in being registered accordingly for taking further necessary action.
