Tura, May 26: The lockdown as a mechanism to curb the rising numbers of COVID infections and early medical intervention for those displaying severe symptoms has borne fruit as 9 patients that were in the severely category were discharged from the Tura Civil Hospital (TCH) after full recovery on Wednesday.
The nine COVID patients in their late 40s and 50s who were Category C inmates of the COVID ward at Tura Civil Hospital (TCH) and had multiple complications and required to be on oxygen support have fully recovered and discharged on a single day, on Wednesday.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ram Singh informed that out of the nine recovered COVID patients, three are said to be women. Comorbid conditions existed on three of the patients, said the DC. Except for one of the patients being from North Garo Hills, the rest are from Tura.
Happy about the recovery numbers, Singh said it is a positive news in times of such crisis affecting the country due to the pandemic.
