Tura, May 24: Covid active cases have crossed the 500 mark in West Garo Hills district, the largest and most affected place in the region, and Tura remains the epicenter for the daily number of new infections.
Out of 94 new cases detected on Monday, 30 belonged to Tura town alone.
Nine cases from Rongkhon and 6 from Boldorenggre locality were the highest figure of positive cases today. In fact a 59-year-old woman who tested positive died in Boldorenggre on Sunday.
