Shillong, Feb 25: Adrian L Chyne Mylliem, a degree holder in psychology from Raffles College, Singapore has been elected and appointed as the new president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress.
Along with him, two other youth leaders, L Banphiralang Basaiawmoit and Henry Kharmuti were also appointed as vice presidents of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress, a statement said on Thursday.
The Congress is putting a lot of emphasis on the next generation leaders, and calls upon the people to come forward and be involved in this paradigm shift within the polity of the state, it said adding that the future of the state rests upon the shoulders of the youth.
Adrian (28) has a rich experience in the political sphere, having worked extensively at the grassroot level while accompanying his father, Lamboklang Mylliem, former MLA from Jirang in 2013.
Being a youth himself, he has an in-depth understanding of the needs and aspirations of the younger generation of today, for the upliftment of the youth in the state. He is also involved in many social works and is well adept in the field, he has a passionate zeal to serve the people and society.
