Ai Jingim Voluntary Donors’ Organisation holds blood donation camp in city

Shillong, Nov 20: A blood donation camp was organised on Saturday by the Ai Jingim Voluntary Donors’ Organisation at Pastuer Institute, Lawmali.

With the slogan, “Donating Blood is an act of Solidarity. Join the efforts and Save Lives”, the Ai jingim till date has donated 1012 units of blood, conducted more than 42 blood donation camps and organised more than 37 awareness campaign programme all over the state. The present strength of the Ai Jingim Voluntary Donors’ Organisation is 212 members – 62 females and 160 males.

Chief Guest of the program, the NPP candidate for North Shillong constituency, Ransom Sutnga, lauded the Ai Jingim Voluntary Donors’ Organisation and encouraged youth to come forward to donate blood as it will benefit many lives. Sutnga, leading from the front to encourage others, said he has also decided to regularly start donating blood for a noble cause.

The Ai Jingim Voluntary Blood Donors’ Organisation was formed in the year 2006 as a Social Organisation with its Headquarters at Laban, Shillong and its working units in Jowai, Nongpoh and Nongstoin. They were recognized by the Health Department, Government of Meghalaya and by the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society.
