Silchar, Dec 30: Three men, who came to join the BSF with fake appointment letters, were arrested in Mashimpur area of Assam’s Silchar.

They have been identified as Chandan Singh, Amit Kumar and Sahil Paswan. All are residents of Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, these three appeared at the BSF headquarters located at Mashimpur on December 21.

BSF officials said they were caught red-handed after a preliminary investigation found the appointment letters as fake.

Later, a complaint was lodged against these three at Arunachal Out Post of Masimpur area by the BSF officials in Mashimpur.

The police arrested them on a tip-off. It is learned that a fraudster from Siliguri provided them with fake appointment letters and took Rs 21 lakh from them, said the Arunachal Out Post incharge .
