Assam: 4 Bangladeshi nationals apprehended for illegally entering India

Guwahati, Sept 30: Yet again, Assam police have apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals for illegally attempting to enter India through Karimganj. They were apprehended on Sunday.

Taking to X, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “In the wee hours, @assampolice managed to apprehended four illegal Bangladeshi nationals in Karimganj and pushed them back to Bangladesh.”

Sarma praised the vigilance of the state police, emphasizing the importance of maintaining security along the border.

This incident is part of a broader effort by Assam authorities to curb illegal immigration.

Following the unrest in Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi nationals have been trying hard to infiltrate into India.

Recently, Indian security forces have apprehended many Bangladeshi nationals and pushed them back to Bangladesh.

According to official reports, around 100 individuals have been apprehended and deported in recent times.
