Guwahati, May 12: The Forest officials on Friday recovered a carcass of Bengal tiger inside the world famous Kaziranga National Park (KNP) and tiger reserve in Assam.
According to reports, the carcass of the tiger was found floating on the Mora Diphlu River under Kohora range of the Kaziranga national park.
The carcass of the tiger was fished out by the staff of forest department in an area adjacent to the boundary of Orang national park.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the tiger could have succumbed to the injuries that it might have sustained during a fight with another big cat.
“We have recovered the carcass of the tiger on Friday morning and conducted an autopsy of the tiger. The tiger might have sustained injury during a fight with another tiger,” said a forest official.
Earlier, in June last year, a decomposed body of a Royal Bengal tiger was found near Orang national park in Sontlitpur district of Assam.
