Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma calls Amit Shah ‘PM’: Congress alleges not a slip of tongue

Must read

Guwahati, May 11: The Congress has taken a swipe at Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma for calling Amit Shah “Prime Minister” at a public event in Guwahati.

While addressing the crowd, the CM, Sarma (mistakenly) said that Amit Shah was the Prime Minister while Narendra Modi was the Home Minister of India.

Although a slip of tongue is not a big deal and it could happen to anyone, the topic came up as a discussion on social media.

BJP leaders have said that it was a slip of tongue, but the Congress refused to believe that.

The Assam Congress in a post on its official Facebook page alleged CM Sarma calling Amit Shah “Prime Minister” as a deliberate act and drew parallels with an Assam MP who used to call Mr Sarma “Chief Minister” when Sarbananda Sonowal was the Chief Minister. At that time, Mr Sarma served as a minister in the Assam government.

A section of the media reported the topic and uploaded the video clip earlier in the day but by evening, almost every outlet had deleted the post from their social media handles.
