Guwahati, Aug 09: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while commending the road transformation initiatives spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, Sarma asserted, “The roads have undergone a remarkable transformation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure. The once dire state of roads has been radically improved, enabling seamless movement for everyone across the nation.”
Sarma emphasized that these road improvements were not exclusive to BJP supporters. He highlighted, “When these roads were constructed, they weren’t solely meant for BJP affiliates. Leaders from all political parties can now traverse these upgraded roadways without hindrance.”
Addressing the BJP’s organizational program in Guwahati, he underscored the party’s unique recognition of Northeast India. With eight states contributing 25 Lok Sabha seats, Sarma noted the significant electoral impact the region holds. He further contextualized this figure by comparing it to other states in the country that hold a similar number of seats.
Encouraging a collective approach, the Assam CM emphasized the importance of unity within the region’s political representation. He stated, “When I engage with Northeastern MPs, I emphasize that they shouldn’t view their influence in isolation. Together, as 25 MPs, our voices can resonate more powerfully, leaving a positive imprint on Indian politics.”
