Guwahati, Jan 20: In a shocking incident, a man jumped from a hospital in Assam’s Jorhat after his wife gave birth to a boy instead of a girl.

The man has been identified as Jitumoni Das, hailing from Rajabari in Bokakhat.

According to reports, Jitumoni took the extreme step after his wife gave birth to a boy instead of a girl child. The incident took place on January 18, when his wife delivered a baby boy at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.

The bystanders who were on the hospital grounds during the incident somehow saved the injured person and helped him to get admitted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where his wife is also admitted.

Family members of Jitumoni said he was behaving strangely following g the birth of his son and appeared to be very agitated just before jumping off the building.
