Guwahati, Jan 29: In a tragic incident, two people were killed in a road accident in Assam’s Kamrup district on Saturday after a dumper hit a motorcycle.

The deceased have been identified as Hakim Ali and Nazim Ali.

Sources said, after the accident, an irate mob torched the dumper, which created tension in the area.

According to police, the dumper hit the motorcycle at Rangia Tiniali as the duo was on their way to their workplace, killing them on the spot.

The locals alleged that over-speeding of the dumper was the cause of the accident.

“After the accident, the driver and the handyman of the dumper managed to escape from the place. We have launched search operation to nab the culprits,” said a police official.
