Baghmara, Feb 10: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inspected the ongoing construction of Baghmara Water Supply Scheme on Thursday along with Siju Rongara MLA Rakkam Sangma at Lotnagar (Masighat) which will lead to supply of 26 lakh litres of pure and safe drinking water to entire population of Baghmara town and dozens of villages adjoining the town.

In a record of sorts, the construction of the water supply project is already in advance stage of completion and could begin functioning as early as May-June of this year.
The chief minister expressed happiness with the pace of development work in the district.
The project costs a huge amount of Rs. 63 Crore and has been deemed one of the most prestigious work of the NPP led MDA Govt.

Laying of Gravity main 75% completed and Conventional type of Treatment Plant
Capacity – 5.28 Million Litres Daily
Completed – 90%
Construction of CLEAR WATER RESERVOIR with capacity 26 lakhs litres
Overall progress – 75% completed
