Guwahati, Jan 22: Assam police arrested an international cattle smuggler from Kutir village in Assam’s Mankachar on Saturday morning.

The cattle smuggler has been identified as one Habibur Rahaman(45) of Bangladesh’s Kurigram district.

According to police, the cattle smuggler entered Indian territory on January 20 at around 11.45 pm through Kuchinamara village.

“We have arrested him from Seikh Alam’s residence in Mankachar’s Kutir Village. He had taken refuge at Seikh Alam’s residence after entering India. The person has been involved in cattle smuggling from a long time,” said a police official.
