Banteidor Lyngdoh meets central ministers, apprises them on the needs of Meghalaya’s farmers

Shillong, Aug 26: Meghalaya Horticulture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh recently approached the central government seeking for help for the farmers of the state.

During his meet with the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, on Thursday at Delhi, he apprised him on the needs of the farmers.

In the same meeting, he also informed the union minister about the decision taken by the state on proper manure to strengthen crops as per the Office Order of the department of horticulture on August 9, 2022.

Earlier, on August 23, 2022, he also met with Bhagwanth Khuba, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, wherein he talked about giving the state it’s share with regards to manure and fertilizers to the farmers of the State.

The Department of Horticulture of the Government of Meghalaya recently issues an Order stating that the farmers will be able to reuse manures like Urea, DAP, MOP and SSP after 8 years after the previous government of the State had ceased the subsidy for manure and fertilizers to the farmers since the 12th of June 2014 to bring down the health related problems caused by these manure and fertilizers in the state.
