Shillong, June 24: BJP MLAs on Thursday demanded expulsion of president and members of the party’s Tura City District unit for making derogatory statement against the national vice president and state in-charge, Dr M Chuba Ao.
A joint statement issued by BJP MLAs AL Hek, Sanbor Shullai and National Council Member, Bashailang Khongwir said the derogatory statement made against the national vice president by the Tura City District president and other members is highly condemnable.
“All persons involved in this derogatory act should be expelled immediately as the allegations are a figment of their wild imagination,” the party leaders said.
They also added that this was a classic case of anti-party activity and warrants immediate disciplinary action of the strictest nature as a district president has made a scathing attack on the state in-charge and national BJP leader, which cannot be tolerated as BJP prides itself on being a disciplined party .
The leaders further urged the state president to intervene and be proactive rather than being a bystander.
