Shillong, Dec 9: The BJP state president Ernest Mawrie on Friday slammed the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) for failing play their role as the “opposition”.

“It is their role to play (opposition); actually they have not played their role according to the constitution,” Mawrie said at a press conference on Friday.

He alleged that all the issues taken by the opposition in the State are the issues raised by the BJP party. “Whatever the corruption issues taken by the BJP now they just joined chorus with us,” he said.

“Why is the TMC, which is the Opposition, they are raising (issues) now only, just before the election,” further questioned the BJP State Chief. He said the opposition has their own role to play in the house but they are more active only in media and newspapers report.
