Guwahati, Feb 2: Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said BJP will emerge as victorious in the three states elections.

Speaking to reporters, CM Sarma said, “I think more or less I feel status quo in governance will be maintained. BJP will emerge as an important power in Meghalaya. In Nagaland, we are going to form government with NDPP and in Tripura we are going to retain power by a bigger majority. If you look at from outside, it looks like there are some activities in Tripura but the biggest asset for BJP is the goodwill of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Garib Kalyan programme of Prime minister and a kind of transformation BJP government has brought in Tripura.”

“During the CPI(M) rule there was terror from government and police and everything was in chaos. But now you will see a new Tripura under BJP rule. So, I believe bigger victory margin for BJP in this elections,” Sarma asserted.

Meanwhile, BJP on Thursday announced a list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Nagaland assembly polls.

The party during its meeting in New Delhi decided to field BJP Nagaland state president Temjen Imna Along from the Alongtaki Legislative assembly constituency.

The three northeastern states of Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya are gripped under polls fervour and the saffron party is geared up started campaigning to help their candidates to win from their respective seats.
