Bomb threat on Spice Jet flight at Silchar Airport

Silchar, March 16: A bomb threat on Flight no. SG 8152 was detected at 1415 hrs at Silchar Airport on 16 March 2021. The Flt SG 8152 arrived at Silchar Airport from Guwahati and the touchdown was at 1358 hrs. Considering the thread, all agencies were alerted and SoPs started informing concerned teams.

The aircraft was taken to a distant bay and all pax movement was halted.

Bomb Threat slip was detected under a seat at the rear end of the aircraft at around 1415 hrs. Immediately Passengers were stopped from exiting Arrival Lounge. Immediately BTD team at Silchar Airport was activated, Assam Police was also informed. State Government, the concerned SP also arranged the security check-up. However, they are arranging BDDS team of SPG which is here in view of the PM visit on 18th March. The BDDS team carried out an extensive check of the aircraft and after hours of all procedure, checking was completed at around 1830 hrs,

This same flight SG 8169 is scheduled from Silchar to Guwahati to Delhi. The flight is scheduled to take off after all checks at 2045 hrs. 109 passengers arrived from the same flight and 66 have to depart from SpiceJet flight

P. K. Gorai Airport Director, Silchar said that the aircraft was halted at the bay immediately considering the bomb threat and all passengers were taken to the terminal building. After having all the mandatory security checks and SoPs followed, the BDDS team cleared the aircraft to fit for flying and it was throughout checked. At 1830 hrs, the flight was still at bay and after meeting with the agencies, we decided to resume the services of the said flight on the route Silchar-Guwahati Delhi. All operations are normal at the Airport.
