Shillong, Nov 24: The Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) motorcycle expedition team reached Shillong on Tuesday afternoon and got a rousing welcome to the pine city. Sunil Kumar Choubey, SE(Civ), Officiating Chief Engineer, HQ R&D Esti(BRO) welcomed the expedition team to Meghalaya at HQ R&D Estt (BRO) Shillong on November 23.

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is conducting India@75 BRO Motorcycle expedition from Oct 14 to Dec 27 touching all corners of the country to spread awareness of contribution of BRO in nation building and road safety amongst others as part of the celebrations of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.
Expedition is being conducted in seven legs. BRO will cover the state of Meghalaya in Leg 4 which commenced at Doomdooma in Arunachal Pradesh on 16 November 2021 and will end at Kolkata on 26 November 2021.
Union Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the Motorcycle expedition from National War Memorial Delhi on 14 October 2021.
First of its kind, this expedition will cover 20,000 kms over 75 days with more than 75 Riders including Officers and Other Ranks from BRO. The expedition will culminate at New Delhi on 27 December 2021 after traversing the entire perimeter of India.
Sunil Kumar Choubey, SE(Civ) on speaking to reporters, gave a brief about the service being done by BRO in connecting places, connecting people in the country in general and the state of Meghalaya in particular.
Choubey also urged the local youth to render services towards nation building.
