Tura, Jan 25: To serve the border area population and to inculcate a sense of security among them, 55 Bn Border Security Force organized a civic action programme along the Indo-Bangla Border area at BOP Dipulipara, South Garo Hills district.
During the civic action programme the BSF unit distributed essential items i.e. solar system inverter, non electric water filter, stationeries and sports items to villagers of Silbari, Dabram, Dipulipara, Shibbari, Namchapara, Kapasipara, Netri, Damdama, Jankhol and Gasuapara under South Garo Hills district.
Students of different bordering area schools also participated in cultural show during this programme. Deputy commissioner, South Garo Hills, Sh F M Dopth, IAS, Commandant, 55 Bn, Sh K N Tripathi, Commandant, 100 Bn, Sh A K Tiwari and other BSF officials, Nokmas, students, teacher and elders of bordering areas present during this programme.
The event maked the distribution of items like sports kit, stationary and electric appliances worth Rs. 5,96,398/-. Approximately 200 bordering people joined the programme and express their happiness and gratitude on the friendly gesture showed by the border men.
