Shillong, May 19: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday handed over a Bangladeshi minor to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) as a goodwill gesture.
The minor was apprehended by the BSF jawans from the international border in South Garo Hills District on Wednesday. He was identified as Munir Khan (17), a resident of Mymensing, Bangladesh.
Inderjit Singh Rana, Inspector General, BSF, Meghalaya Frontier in his statement said that BSF always adopts a humanitarian approach in such cases where victims are minors or innocent. Both the border guarding forces have developed an understanding on such subjects and these issues are amicably resolved to strengthen the existing relationship and to enhance mutual trust between both the neighboring countries, he added.
