Shillong, March 6: With NPP Chief and Chief Minister designate Conrad K Sangma announcing the distribution of cabinet berths among the MDA 2.0 alliance partners, everyone is speculating is on who will get the Deputy CM’s chair and who all will be inducted into the cabinet.

Conrad on Monday announced that NPP will keep 8 cabinet berths including the Chief Minister, UDP will get 2 berths, while BJP and HSPDP will get 1 each, making a total of 12 berths.

While NPP Chief Conrad Sangma is all set to be sworn-in as the Chief Minister on Tuesday for the second consecutive term in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speculations are rife on the allocations of the remaining 11 berths, with rumours stating that BJP and UDP are demanding Deputy Chief Minister’s post. Amid all this, Hub News has received credible information about the allotment of these prestigious cabinet berths.

Sources informed that NPP leaders Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar will be in the cabinet and get substantial roles.

Other NPP members in the Cabinet include Rongara-Siju legislator Rakkam A. Sangma, Williamnagar legislator Marcuise N. Marak, Phulbari legislator AT Mondal, East Shillong legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh and Raliang legislator Comingone Ymbon.

AL Hek from BJP, Shakliar Warjri from HSPDP, Paul Lyngdoh and Kyrmen Shylla of UDP are the other members of the cabinet.

Conrad and his council of ministers will be sworn-in on Tuesday.

Their portfolios will be decided after the swearing in ceremony on Tuesday even as speculations are high that Tynsong and Dhar are poised to be inducted as Deputy CMs.

Only the PDF has been kept out of the new Cabinet.

The NPP has the support of 45 MLAs.
