Tura, Feb 28: It is finally official! The much talked about claims and rumours surrounding the stepping down of Chief Executive Member GHADC, Rakesh A Sangma, has finally been made official on Sunday night with the submitting of his resignation letter to Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik.
The letter to the governor was submitted to GHADC Deputy Chairman Albinush Marak as per the council rules and norms on Sunday night.
The Deputy Chairman, in response, will forward the letter to the governor through his office ending the brief tenure of Rakesh A Sangma as CEM.
In his resignation letter, the CEM cited sub rules ofcthe Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils) Rules (Amended) 1951 to resign on moral grounds with immediate effect.
The deputy chairman Albinush Marak who accepted Rakesh Sangma’s resignation has already been selected by the NPP and its allies in the council to head the new Executive Committee as its CEM.
