Shillong, July 13: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday informed that the High Court has clearly said that the Government can now go ahead with the recruitment following the roster system.
Briefing the media at the Police Headquarter in Shillong, the Chief Minister said that the situation is that in every department, the system is at a different level. Hence, there cannot be a one simple yardstick or a solution or reply to each one. “So every department has completed the roster, they are going ahead with the recruitment,” informed Sangma.
He added that as for larger departments, which require a bit more input since it dates back to 1972, a lot of documents have to be looked into so the departments which are slightly larger and taking more time to get the background and the details are taking a bit more time to finalize the recruitment.
“I would like to make it very clear to the people and everybody that there is now no issue with the recruitment process. There is no issue of going ahead with the appointments. The only condition that has been put in is that you have to ensure that your roster is in place,” he added.
He further informed that some departments have done it and they are going ahead, while some departments because of the fact that they are huge and have got hundreds and thousands of people and the records in some cases are very difficult to find since it is from 1972.
He assured the citizens that efforts are being made to ensure that all departments put the roster system at the earliest so that everything is back to normal.
