COVID-19 update: West Jaintia Hills reports over 100 cases for two days in a row

Shillong, June 19: Meghalaya on Saturday detected over 500 cases for the second day in a row. 514 cases have been detected in the last 24 hours, and 650 cases were detected on Friday. But the biggest worry is the West Jaintia Hill which has detected over 100 cases for two consecutive days.

On Friday, 101 cases were detected in the district and on Saturday that number has gone up to 115. On Thursday the number was 37, Wednesday – 23, Tuesday – 69, Monday – 63.

That takes the total cases in six days to 408.

West Garo Hills is also reporting high numbers. On Friday, it reported 109 cases and on Saturday 63 cases were detected, Thursday it was 60, and 53 on Wednesday.
East Khasi Hills continues to lead the daily caseload. It detected 163 cases on Saturday, 220 on Friday, 189 on Thursday, and 122 on Wednesday.

As for other districts, on Saturday, East Garo Hills detected 32 cases, East Jaintia Hills – 08, North Garo Hills – 15, Ri-Bhoi district – 57, South Garo Hills – 22, South West Garo Hills – 19, South West Khasi Hills – 12, West Khasi Hills – 08.

Meanwhile, 585 recoveries were made and 5 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
