Guwahati, March 25: After detection of two Covid positive cases in the past five days, the health department of Assam has been alerted.

Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta on Thursday said Covid-infected patient from Maharashtra has been admitted to a Guwahati hospital.

According to reports, the new case was detected on Wednesday, after 30 samples were tested.

At present, 2% of the foreign travellers are being randomly tested at Guwahati airport but in case of domestic travellers, there’s no such rule in place.

Despite the sudden surge in some of the states, health department officials here said there have been no reports of Covid cases of late in Assam.

According to the official, the patient from Maharashtra is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Guwahati and is being monitored by the health officials.
