TURA, Aug 9: Beware! Days of gold and currency theft appears to be no longer a hot item in Garo Hills.

Burglary is undergoing a transformation in the Garo Hills and the new trend appears to be long hands hooked into gas pots.

A woman working in the Soil Conservation department, Smti Premika Sangma returned home from work on Tuesday hoping to sip a cup of warm tea but only to find her gas stove and four cylinders missing. They also took away an LED tv.

When last heard, police were on a hot gas trail.
