Shillong, May 26: Cabinet Minister and Mylliem constituency MLA, Hamletson Dohling has expressed his opposition to the proposal of the previous government to hand over 2 acre of land to the Indian Air Force (IAF). Instead, he has suggested for a Veterinary Hospital in the said area at Upper Shillong.
In his closing remarks as the Guest of Honour at an event on Wednesday, Dohling said that in the previous government there was a proposal to hand over a 2-acre land of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary department to the IAF.
“I have been opposing the proposal along with the locals and the headmen of the area, even before I was an MLA. But my ardent request to the incumbent Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, (is) to kindly look that the matter may not be entertained anymore and review the proposal,” he said at the event which was also attended the Chief Minister.
Proposing the idea of setting up of a Veterinary Hospital in the proposed area which will benefit the state and the local populace, he said he has communicated this idea with the department regarding the feasibility of the proposal.
