Shillong, Nov 1: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) team of East Khasi Hills District was successful in targeting one supply chain from Manipur and seized a huge amount of contraband (heroin)kept in a box of 100 soaps besides arresting two persons.

Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF team got the information that a few suspected persons from Manipur were heading towards Meghalaya’s Capital Shillong along with the consignment of suspected illegal contraband in an Assam registered vehicle which was to be delivered to one suspected drug dealer.

Both arrested persons have been identified as T. Ginlienthang and Lamminthang Paongam.

Police seized the vehicle and further inquiry is on to ascertain the source of the drug chain and other drug dealers in the Shillong area. The case has been registered under sections 21(c) and 29 of the NDPS Act.
