Tura, May 6: The Inter-Club T20 Tournament organised was Tura District Cricket Association (TDCA) concluded on Saturday (May 6, 2023) at Alotgre Stadium. The thrilling and highly entertaining final was played out between Druma Sandruma Club and Mean Machine Club, which was won by Druma Sandruma by 11 runs.
Druma Sandruma batted first and scored 119/8 in the designated 20 overs. In response, Mean Machine were bundled out for 108 in 19.3 overs, with much of the damage done by the excellent bowling of Rajiv Sangma.
Rajiv Sangma of Druma Sandruma was awarded the Man of the Match for his superb bowling. He scalped 3 wickets in his 4 overs and gave out just 9 runs.
The tournament witnessed a total of 26 teams competing against each other. The winning team was awarded a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh while the runner-up received Rs. 50,000.
The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Jagdish Chelani, along with other government officials and Chiang D Shira, Jt. Secy MCA.
Speaking to the media, Rikman R Marak, Convenor of the Tournament, emphasized that such tournaments provide an excellent opportunity for raw talents from all corners to showcase themselves on a significant platform. Senior players from Shillong also participated in the tournament.
The tournament was sponsored by several organizations whose representatives were also present at the event.
