Tura, July 2: In an Exclusive interview to the Hub News, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya sports Officer Saljagring M Marak talked about the Inter Mahari Football Tournament.
He said that the Inter-Mahari Football Tournament is scheduled to be held in July, while the openings for men category will be held on July 8 at Chandmari Astro turf football ground, Tura and the Women’s will be on July 10.
For the Inter Mahari Football Tournament, a total of 39 Men’s teams and 19 Women’s team have registered.
The semi finals & finals of the Inter-Mahari Football Tournament will be played at PA Sangma Stadium on August 19th.
The winner runners-up, best goal keeper, player of the Tournament, highest Scorer of the tournament will be awarded with Cash Prize, Trophies along with gifts will be given.
Saljagring M Marak expresssing his joy and happiness said “the expectations for women’s category was mere but after registration a total of 19 teams have registered.”
The Inter Mahari Football Tournament is organised by the District Sports Office in Collaboration with District Administration(WGH) & District Football Association(DFA).
About the Inter Mahari Football Tournament
The Inter Mahari Football Tournament started in the year 2021 at Matchakolgre Field with 16 teams taking part in it. All the participating teams was only from Men’s Category.
In 2022, 32 teams participated in the Tournament along with Open women’s tournament, where 35 teams took part in it.
