Eye on polls, Assam BJP takes political campaign to extreme grassroot level

Guwahati, Feb 27: The upcoming Assam Assembly Elections are just around the corner. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Sunil Arora has in a press conference issued the guidelines regarding the same this evening.

From the dates of polls to COVID guidelines and constituency-wise details of voters, the Election Commission has shared the data to the media.

Assam Polls are to be three-phased with the first phase on 27th March, second on 1st April and third on 6th April. The seat break-up is 47, 39 and 40, respectively. Results are to be out on 2nd May, 2021.

In the meantime, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has upped its campaign, not only in social media but also in the grassroots level as well.

Last week, the BJP here organised a ‘Pristha Pramukh Sammelan’ at Sipajhar in Darrang district.

“In consideration of the upcoming Assembly Election, attended the Pristha Pramukh Sammelan held at the Sipajhar Assembly Constituency in Darrang District today.”, reads a tweet by State BJP Chief Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Saturday.

He added, “The role of Pristha Pramukh in the proper implementation of schemes is very significant as they keep the public updated about various welfare schemes of the Central & State Govt. I also encouraged them to uphold their responsibilities & duties to achieve the Mission 100 plus.”
