Shillong, Nov 28: The Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo people (FKJGP) on Monday met the State health Minister James K. Sangma to apprise him of the problems faced by the nursing candidates appearing for the Post Nursing Officer and Staff Nurse at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
The leaders of the FKJGP Kitborlang Nongphlang, speaking to reporters, said the purpose of the meeting with the Health Minister was to apprise him of the problems faced by the selected candidates who will be appearing for examination at a centre in Jaipur and some parts of Assam.
Nongphlang said that the Federation had sought an appointment with the Director of NEIGRIHMS but as he was out of station the Federation was not able him.
He further said the Health Minister has not assured any help as due to time constraints if only the Federation had come up a week earlier the minister from the government side could have done something on the issue. As it is an All India Exam, the State government has very limited time to intervene, he said.
He also informed that around 2000 posts are laying vacant in NEIGRIHMS since 2019 for the post of staff nurse but due to the pandemic the examination has been postponed to December 2, 2022.
