Shillong, Dec 3: Former Addl. DGP of the Meghalaya Police Heimonlang Nongpluh was on Friday sworn-in as the State Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Meghalaya at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
The swearing-in was conducted by the Governor Satya Pal Malik.
Heimonlang Nongpluh was born to Kmenlang Tariang and Tulmeries Nongpluh from Chutwakhu, Jowai and he completed his Matriculation (SSLC) from St Anthony’s, Pynursla in 1978 and then his PU Sc from St. Anthony’s College in the year 1980.
Following the PU Sc. he completed B.E Chemical Engineering from REC (now NIT) Durgapur in 1984 and joined the IPS 1994 Batch of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre where he underwent Foundation Course at Mussoorie and Police Training at Hyderabad.
As an IPS Officer, Nongpluh had served as the SP (City) Shillong, SP Nongstoin, SP Jowai, AIG (A), SP CBI, DIG CBI, IGP Special Branch, IGP Training, Addl DGP Law and Order and as the Addl. DG Special Branch and CID.
Prior to his retirement the Police Department conducted a Farewell Parade at the Police Academy, Umran, Ri Bhoi District on 1st December 2021.
Nongpluh will be taking charge as the new State Chief Information Commissioner from the outgoing Commissioner, PBO Warjri.
