Former Mylliem MDC & FKJGP president Sounder Strong Cajee passed away

Shillong, June 9: The former MDC of Mylliem and ex-president of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP), Sounder Strong Cajee, passed away on Sunday at age 58.

Cajee died in Bethany Hospital at around 8:00 AM due to a heart attack, sources informed.

Cajee served as the FKJGP president in 1989. He also represented the Mylliem Constituency as an MDC.

In recent years, Cajee remained active in politics. He unsuccessfully contested on an NPP ticket from the South Shillong constituency in 2018. In 2022, he ran against Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar from the Mawkyrwat constituency but lost.
