Shillong, April 7: Former Rajya Sabha MP Robert Kharshiing passed away on Thursday morning after prolonged illness at Nazareth Hospital, Shillong. He was 61 years of age.

Kharshiing represented the State as an MP in the Upper House of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) during April 2002 to April 2008.
His body will be taken to his residence near Stephen Hall, Bomfyle Road, Lachumiere.
