Tura, Aug 1: More accusations of creating trouble in the GHADC have been thrown at Tura BJP MDC Bernard Marak by the current Executive Committee (EC) for his frequent political interference despite being on the ruling side.
The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of GHADC, Benedic R Marak has revealed in a complaint letter to BJP National Vice President and Meghalaya in-Charge, Dr M. Chuba Ao that Bernard Marak instigated the striking employees of the council to continue with their protests even though the EC was reaching out to them and also making arrangements to clear a sizeable portion of their pending salaries by borrowing from the state government.
CEM Benedic Marak mentioned that when formation of the new EC was being made, it was only BJP MDC Promod Koch who extended support while Bernard Marak chose to be absent during election to the Chairman’s position which was crucial before the new EC came into being.
“Bernard Marak has been very vocal in time and again finding fault with the new Executive Committee” Benedic Marak stated in his letter to Ao.
He pointed out that Bernard Marak came up with his letter of support to the new Executive Committee only after the EC had managed to clear five months of salary by borrowing from the state.
