SHILLONG, JUNE 24: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Thursday said information is being collected on the number of schools damaged by heavy rain in the state.

“Information is being collected by the Deputy Commissioners, who will then submit their respective reports to the state government,” Rymbui told reporters.

He said the situation is different from one place to another. However, the damages caused by heavy rainfall is very unprecedented in the state of Meghalaya.

“So we will look into the matter but I don’t foresee such an incident will happen in the future,” Rymbui added.
