Govt must deal with roster system issue in ‘mature’ manner: UDP Chief Metbah

Must read

Shillong, April 14: The Chairman of the State Planning Board and president of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Metbah Lyngdoh has suggested that the approach of the government in dealing with the issue of roster system implementation must be “mature” as it is a very sensitive matter.

Speaking to reporters, the UDP chief informed that once the Chief Minister is back in the city, the party will be meeting him to discuss the issue of roster system and job reservation.

“This is a very sensitive matter; we have to be very careful in dealing with such issues which are delicate in nature. We have to approach in a very mature manner,” expressed Lyngdoh.

Being part of the government, he said the UDP will play a very constructive role.

“There is no point in shouting or anything, at the end of the day it is the government who should take the call. But, it has to be on the right platform, the meeting with the Chief Minister is the right platform to address the issues,” he added.
