Shillong, May 18: The state government has agreed to clear eight months of pending arrear salary of Rs 47 crore to the SSA teachers in four instalments starting from June, this year.

This came after a petition was filed by the Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan School Association (MSSASA) before the Meghalaya High Court.

In its judgment passed on Wednesday, the Court disposed of the petition after the state government informed that a formula has been worked out for release of the pending arrear salary of SSA teachers.
