Tura, Oct 17: The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) and National Federation for New States (NFNS) has announced a massive rally on October 29 to demand a separate ‘Garoland’.
Deputy CEM of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and the vice-president of NFNS, Nikman Ch Marak informed that a gathering will be held at Teteng Aja Playground in Tura as separate state demand leaders from across the nation will be joining the mega rally.
Marak in a statement has urged all the leaders to join hands to demand for a separate Garoland State.
“Let us step together without any resolution on basis of sex, religion, clan, race, qualifications etc, because unity becomes possible to clear any obstacle,” he said.
“If we work together everything is possible. We can handle any obstacle and circumstance that is blocking our paths. All the leaders from different social organisations and NGOs are hereby welcomed. We need to support each other to achieve our long-standing demand for a Garoland state,” he said.
