GUWAHATI, Jan 2: Guwahati Police seized drugs worth Rs 407 crores in the year 2022. This statement was given by Guwahati Commissioner of Police, Diganta Borah.
Talking to media persons, Diganta Borah said, “There were 10234 cases registered in the year 2022 with 34530 previous pending. The percentage of disposal is 167.2 which has increased from 104.18 in 2021.”
Borah shared the details of the recovery- Heroine worth Rs 95,78,40,000, Brown sugar – Rs 129,89,600, Ganja – Rs 19,76,80,150, Cocaine – Rs 8,20,000, Morphine – Rs1,84,00,000, Methamphetamine – Rs 74,88,00,000, Psychotropic substance tablets – Rs 228,91,50,000, Pschotropic syrup bottle – Rs 4,27,02,000, Opium – Rs 2,23 000.
Assam Police have launched a massive war against drugs in the state and so far many drug smugglers and peddlers have been arrested from different places of the state.
