Shillong, Feb 28: BJP legislators and former minister, A L Hek, on Monday sought the intervention of central ministers to evacuate citizens of Meghalaya, who are stranded in Ukraine.

Hek met Union Minister of State (MoS) MEA, V Muraleedharan and Union Law Minister, Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi.

He urged both the ministers to take all possible measures to evacuate stranded citizens of Meghalaya at the earliest.

According to sources, 35 to 37 citizens from Meghalaya are in the Russian invasion-hit Ukraine.
