Shillong, April 6: BJP leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that the party will improve its tally in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections in Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters, Sarma informed that the BJP will contest the Meghalaya elections as it has a good presence in the state.
“And we will try to improve our tally from the last time (2018 polls),” he said.
At present, BJP has only two MLAs in the 60-member House and is supporting the National People’s Party (NPP)-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.
